Poverty has a devastating impact on children, families and seniors. With your help, leaders of the Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley hope to do more to promote health, self-sufficiency, and the upward mobility that is at the heart of the American Dream.

Research and experience has shown that neighborhoods and communities thrive when people have access to:

  • nutritious food and exercise
  • safe and affordable housing
  • education and job training
  • employment
  • preventive health care
  • supportive social relationships
  • a sense of community belonging

Thanks to the efforts of committed volunteers and benefactors, an effort is underway to establish the Fowler Community Wellness Center. This new resource will bring together leading non-profit organizations that have pledged to coordinate services and help residents in Bethlehem’s Southside and Northeast neighborhoods lead healthy, satisfying and productive lives.

To date, nearly $1.6 million has been pledged toward this worthy effort by generous community donors. A total of $2.1 million is needed to renovate HCLV’s historically significant building at 502 E. 4th Street, future home of integrated wellness services. Any resources raised over this goal will be used for on-going capital needs at the Hispanic Center’s current facility.
